A Hatch Acupuncture consultation is a unique experience tailored specifically to address your individual health concerns. Acupuncture points are selected according to your signs and symptoms, through tongue examination and pulse diagnosis. Very fine acupuncture needles are retained in the body while you relax and listen to soothing music. Other therapies may be combined with the Acupuncture and may include massage, cupping, moxa heat therapy or gha sha. Herbs may also be advised to be taken in addition to enhance your treatment.

Hatch Therapeutic Massage
A
Hatch Therapies Massage may provide both relaxation and therapeutic
benefits for the body. Your Therapist will discuss with you the areas
of your body requiring attention and then design your treatment to suit
your specific needs.
Massage can be a simple yet powerful healing art and has been utilised throughout the world for thousands of years. Massage may affect the body on a physical and psychological level. Massage may assist the circulatory system enhancing the flow of blood, lymph and waste products. Massage may help to relax or invigorate your mind and body and can be a regular part of your health maintenance program.
Consultation fees 1 hr: $80

Pregnancy and Post Natal Massage
At Hatch Therapies we are experienced in providing massage throughout the course of your pregnancy and post natal period. We want you to feel comfortable and relaxed using custom made pregnancy supports on our massage tables where applicable.
During pregnancy your body undergoes enormous physical change placing stress on your muscles and ligaments. Massage may be a soothing treatment to address aches and pain or can be purely for relaxation and nurturing. Massage may also be helpful for oedema manually encouraging the movement of fluid.
Baby Massage
At
Hatch Therapies we understand and value the amazing benefits of regular
therapeutic massage. We encourage mothers, fathers and caregivers to
massage their babies to promote health and to aid the forming of unique
bonds. We offer individual or group instruction courses so that you
can learn to massage.

What to expect at a Hatch Therapies Baby Massage course
-Baby Massage group courses are usually conducted over four consecutive
weeks. Individual courses are conducted over three consecutive weeks.
One or both parents are welcome to attend
-Each week the class is for the duration of one hour.
-You will learn about practising massage in a manner that promotes respectful
positive touch. This includes observing your babies body language in
know when to massage
-You will learn a full body massage sequence including legs, arms, back,
stomach, chest and face
-During the classes your instructor will demonstrate the massage stokes
on a life size doll and you will massage your baby.

-Group classes (run over 4 weeks) $120
-Individual class (run over 3 weeks) $70 per class
Chinese Herbal Medicine
At Hatch Therapies Chinese herbs are sometimes combined with other treatments. Chinese Herbal Medicine is a Traditional Chinese Medicine with a history dating back over five thousand years. Chinese herbs are generally from plant origins for example leaves, seeds, roots, flowers and fruit. Some herbs are also minerals and occasionally animal products. Individual herbs are usually combined to form formulas, there are hundreds of different formulas for varying health conditions.
Moxa
Moxa is a form of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Moxa is a heat therapy involving the use of a herb called Ai Ye (Mugwort Leaf) which it is made into sticks or cones then burnt. The properties of the herb and the actual heat it generates are directed to the skin to penetrate into the body. Moxa is a warming and nurturing form of treatment used for:
-Obstetric Conditions: malposition of the baby (breech presentation)
-Digestive conditions: such as pain, bloating, bowel issues
-Gynaecological conditions: such as period pain, cramps and associated
back pain
-Musculoskeletal conditions: such as aches, pain, stiff joints
-Cold conditions: such as cold hands and feet
Cupping
Cupping is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that is sometimes combined with other treatments such as Acupuncture or Massage. Cupping involves the placing of suction cups onto the soft tissue areas of the body, usually the back or legs. Drawing up the tissue cupping helps to facilitate blood flow. In Traditional Chinese Medicine cupping is used to move stagnated blood and body products, clear congestion, dispel cold and reduce swelling. Cupping may be used for: |

Ghasha
Gha Sha is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine massage. “Gha” means to scrape the soft tissue of the body with a spoon or similar tool. “Sha” is the name given to the reddish skin coloration that surfaces as a result of the spooning massage. Gha Sha has similar uses to cupping, it may also be used as a calming treatment in times of stress or anxiety.
